Why Do I Get Adjusted?

I'm not a new mom, I'm not pregnant, I do not have neck pain or back pain, or headaches...so why do I get adjusted?

Most people think that chiropractors are simply just for back pain, but that is not all that we are here for.  In our society we are used to looking for fixes once we have problems, and we take a reactive approach to healthcare.  Instead, we should be seeking out ways to maintain a healthy and pain free life by preventing future health problems from arising.

I get adjusted once a week, or once every other week so that I can prevent health issues from arising in the future.  This is not to say that every once in a while I don’t have an occasional headache, or neck pain from sleeping wrong, but getting my regular adjustments helps my body to heal quicker when these things happen.  My regular adjustments also help to keep my immune system healthy, and I’m better able to fight off the common cold, flu, and allergies.  Ladies, between you and me, regular adjustments overtime have helped me have less severe cramps (check out my other blog post about this), and more regular cycles.  Since my job is pretty physically demanding, getting regular chiropractic adjustments supports my body, and allows me to keep working.  My body is also able to function better overall since I’m maintaining a healthy spine and nervous system.

So, to answer the question simply, I don’t get adjusted just when I have a pain or other health issues, I get adjusted to prevent pain and maintain my health.  Now, I'm not saying everyone needs to get adjusted once a week, everyone is different, and everyone responds differently to care.  My point is, that chiropractic care should be utilized as preventative, maintenance care, and not just for pain relief.  Everyone can benefit from getting regular adjustments whether it be once a week or once a month.  Find the maintenance schedule that is right for you and your body.

It is said that chiropractic adds years to life, and life to years.  This is why I do what I do!

As always, if you have any questions about chiropractic care, please do not hesitate to call or email.  I'm happy to answer any questions you have!
